I've always been a little skeptical about console games (there, I've admitted it) - I enjoyed Guitar Hero, but the PS2 etc just passed me by.
Well, I'm a convert. The group of us have got a collective Wii, and I've had a chance to play properly now and I'm not ashamed to admit that I love it!
What games though? Wii sports was all well and good, but I can see it getting old quickly. That, and my wrists were already big balls of pain after two games of tennis.
So I ask - what games are good for the Wii? Save me, please, from only having the option of boxing with the boys, or racing cows...

If you are looking for just a fun game, especially in groups, give Rayman a shot. I played it about a month ago and it was a lot of fun. Tons of mini games that will keep you pretty occupied for a while.
I haven't played many games for the wii, though, but I hear good things about Trauma Center 2.

OK Rich, but how the hell am I going to sell a game called "Zelda Twilight PRINCESS" to a group primarily consisting of guys?

Hey Cas, About an hour ago I was sitting at my kitchen table listening to my three boys (aged 11, 11, and 7) playing Zelda on the wii. I asked them if the name bothered them. Their response: "why?" and "not really" It's a fun game and neither girly nor boy-y.
They love to box on the sports thing and I have to say it's a great thing for active boys to do on a rainy day.
As for recommendations, definitely zelda, rampage total destruction is fun although for some crushing things gets old and the madden nfl game looks good, but hasn't arrived from gamefly.com yet. (We've decided to try things out first before buying them.) A friend loves that trauma center game, but I'm not so sure about operating on people, even if they are virtual.

You can't own a Nintendo system and not own the Zelda game for it. Bad things usually happen when these events occur. I'm just saying...

Zelda is fantastic. Also: Warioware Smooth Moves is a total riot, playing alone or with a bunch of people cheering or razzing along.

Zelda is the best game series ever. You have to play it. As for selling the name to a bunch of blokes... it's about saving a Princess (doing a manly/ heroic deed) not being a Princess. Zelda is the person you are saving, youplay as alink - a bloke with a big sword.
Personally I am still trying to find a shop in the UK that sells Wii's - I refuse to pay the ridiculous amount people are asking for them on ebay, so am waiting for a store to stock them. I need my Zelda fix!
BTW we have a Wii at work, Wii Tennis rocks!

OK, so I need to get Zelda. Scrivs has said so, so it's kinda like an order from on high...
And yes, Wii Tennis rocks. Alas, that's the one that had my wrist in agony after about two games :S

You should also get WarioWare Smooth Moves. It's a bit dorky, but it's amazingly fun and addicting. I mean, what other game is going to have dancing kittens at a disco telling you that you loose after failing to use the Wiimote as a hula hoop? :D
